Self Care can be
- Taking a bath with a bath bomb when you’re stressed
- Playing video games or reading within moderation to escape a little
- Going on a hike to enjoy some silence
- Allowing yourself to feel grief after a loss of someone or something you love
- Taking a nap on a Saturday
- Allowing yourself to buy that extra candy bar
- Going out for drinks with the pals on the weekend
Self Care can also include:
- Doing your homework
- At least partially engaging in hygene
- Washing your face
- Wearing clean clothes or at least homework
- Cleaning a part of your room or house
- Brushing your hair
- Going to sleep and waking up at the same time everyday, meaning a reasonable time.
- Going outside at least a few times a week even if it’s to walk around your neighborhood with earphones on
Self Care does not include:
- Skipping class or work multiple times a week
- Sleeping for more than 12 hours at a time
- Escaping by playing video games, reading, or watching netflix to the point of ignoring real-life obligations or the whole days go by
- Exercising unhealthily to the point of self destruction
- Allowing yourself to eat nothing but snacks or junk food for days in a row without having an actual meal
- Staying up past 1am regularly
- Getting drunk every night
- Buying yourself stuff you don’t need to the point that you can’t pay bills or you accumulate debt
